Known for her abilities to transform into operatic characters with admirable charisma and personal vocal musicality. McKayla’s most notable performances include: Fairy Queen in Gilbert & Sullivan’s Iolanthe, Julia Child in Lee Hoiby’s Bon Appétit, Mrs. Nolan in Menotti’s The Medium, and The Second Witch in Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas. In addition to her operatic work, she is heavily involved in the choral scene in the tri-state area. Most recently, McKayla presented as the alto soloist in Duruflé’s Requiem at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Stamford, CT. under the direction of Nathan K. Lively.

For the 2024-2025 season, McKayla joined Madison Lyric Stage in their production of Strauss’s Elektra where she portrayed Dritte Magd and Die Vertrauter under the stage direction of Marc Deaton and musical direction of Nathaniel Barker.

McKayla is a cum laude graduate holding a Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance from the Hugh A. Glauser School of Music at Kent State University. .

Studying with John M. Russell of New York City, Recently, she was a featured singer in a masterclass led by the renowned vocal instructor, David Jones. She has collaborated with SingThrough Central to master the challenging role of Orfeo in Gluck's Orfeo ed Euridice. Beyond her performances, McKayla serves as the alto section leader at St. John’s Lutheran Church. To share the excellence of vocal and operatic techniques, she has a voice studio devoted to inspiring future generations of artists. 

In addition to her musical involvement, McKayla is a writer of poetry. In 2025, she published her first poetry chapbook entitled: Lands Beyond Me, Fights of Duality.
